OceanWorks has been at the forefront of submarine rescue system technology since the delivery of the Royal Australian Navy's "REMORA" Advanced Submarine Rescue Vehicle (ASRV) in 1995. Since then OceanWorks has expanded and improved upon its submarine rescue product line to include:

  • Advanced tethered Remotely Operated Rescue Vehicles (RORV) capable of operation to 650 meter depths
  • Advanced un-tethered Submarine Rescue Vehicles (SRV) capable of operation to 650 meter depths
  • Emergency Life Support Stores (ELSS) pods and pod deployment systems
  • Submarine Emergency Ventilation and Decompression Systems (SEVDS)
  • Articulated mating skirts to allow operations at 45 to 60 degree mating angles
  • Launch and Recovery Systems (LARS) and Deck Handling Systems (DHS)
  • Umbilical winches
  • Transfer Under Pressure (TUP) and Deck Decompression Chamber (DDC) systems
  • Submarine engineering and hardware interface services
  • Fully staffed and managed Submarine Rescue operations and maintenance support services

Our integrated product line provides reliable, innovative and proven Submarine Rescue Systems to the Navies of the world.

As an indication of the success of this technology, the U.S. Navy contracted OceanWorks to design and build the U.S. Navy's future submarine rescue vehicle, the Pressurized Rescue Module System (PRMS). When completed, this system will have the most advanced rescue capability in the world and will set the standard for future submarine rescue system development.
